Monstars or Modesty?

Like the Monstars from Space Jam, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Leeds United are using top secret technology to cultivate the perfect football team. Why else would there be such privacy shrouding a mundane pre-season tour of Germany?

It would have made sense in 2018, given there would have been obvious merit in hiding Marcelo Bielsa’s methods and tactics from curious eyes prior to its unveiling in that iconic dismantling of Stoke. But what is there to gain from privacy this pre-season? We already know the tactics Daniel Farke employs, we already know the squad, and further transfer activity will surely take place long after the curtain has come down on this trip to central Europe. So why are we being so secretive?
