Mateusz Klich celebrates scoring for Leeds at Rotherham in 2019 wearing the underrated yellow third shirt

Leeds Unitedโ€™s third kit from 2018/19 exists in my mind as the embodiment of an almost perfect era, despite it being worn on the day Pablo Hernandez cried at Brentford. Itโ€™s also the evidence I would present in my argument that we should have stuck with Kappa, rather than switching to Adidas just to be fobbed off with templates and cheap materials.

Itโ€™s possibly the first and only time ever that a kit announcement was leaked by Football Manager, as the early demo version of the game included the jersey two weeks before it was unveiled publicly. It debuted in a woeful 4-1 loss at West Brom and bowed out with a forgettable 3-2 defeat at Ipswich on the final day, but itโ€™s a shirt that lived a mostly charmed existence.
