Ireland, Norway, South Africa, Switzerland, Poland, Brazil, even North Macedonia โ€” Leeds United fans have little trouble finding cult heroes from across the globe, adopting them into our mad world like a long-lost family member. Often those players arrive in Leeds without any designs on becoming as adored as they end up, but they quickly realise thereโ€™s very little choice involved on their part. Once youโ€™re in, youโ€™re in, and itโ€™s very hard to turn the majority against you once theyโ€™ve decided youโ€™re one of the team.

Every now and again, however, a player slips through the cracks. What began as a burgeoning romance can, every so often, become a bitter, broken coupling, filled with criticism and resentment on either side.
