Tony Yeboahโ€™s legend has its origins in Japan. Before Ao Tanaka glided into Beeston there was Yosuke Ideguchi. But Ideguchi wasnโ€™t the first Japanese arrival at Elland Road. Once our long-standing marriage to Umbro broke off following the title win in 1992, after a brief twelve-month fling with old flame Admiral, in the summer of 1993 we unexpectedly hooked up with the Japanese sportswear manufacturer Asics in a deal that lasted three seasons.
